Tees Local Drug Information System (LDIS)
The Tees Local Drug Information System (LDIS) is a partnership that helps services keep track of drug use, supply and related harms.
It brings together teams from public health, treatment services, emergency services, healthcare and community organisations. By working together, these partners take a joined-up approach to drug issues across the Tees area.
LDIS collects and looks at local information to spot new drugs, changes in use and possible risks as early as possible. This helps services respond quickly and provide the right support at the right time.
Our purpose
LDIS aims to:
Spot new drugs and trends early
Help services share information more easily
Support quick action when there are serious risks
Reduce harm, including overdoses and deaths
Inform local plans, services and decisions
What is the Tees Local Drug Information Service (LDIS)?
LDIS supports professionals working in:
Drug and alcohol services
Healthcare (GPs, hospitals, emergency departments)
Public health
Police and criminal justice services
Housing and homelessness services
Community and voluntary organisations
Who is this for?
Drug markets and patterns of use can change quickly. This can increase the risk of harm to people and communities. LDIS helps services across Tees stay informed with up-to-date and reliable information, so they can act early rather than respond after harm has happened.
By working together and sharing information, services can reduce harm, save lives and improve outcomes for people affected by substance use.
